Student Legal Services is limited in regards to certain services.

• SLS cannot represent students who have disputes with another student at NC State
• SLS cannot provide representation to students who have disputes with NC State.
• SLS cannot provide representation to students who have disputes against the State of North Carolina.
• SLS cannot represent students involved with real estate closings
• SLS cannot provide representation in contested domestic matters.
• SLS cannot handle tax matters.
• SLS cannot represent students in cases that breach the attorney’s guidelines under the rules of professional conduct, set by the North Carolina State Bar
• SLS cannot represent in disputes outside the legal parameters of the prepaid legal plan.
• SLS cannot represent in cases that require appearance outside of the following counties: Durham, Wake, Orange, Johnson and Franklin
