January 28 marks Data Privacy Day. Use this day to strengthen your privacy and secure your personal information. Keeping your information out of the hands of scammers and fraudsters is worth your time, saving you money and countless hours and headaches.

Many of us are aware of basic information protection methods, but there are always additional measures we can take. Today, review and enhance your security practices. Visit the North Carolina Attorney General’s Protecting Your Identity webpage for tips to keep your data secure.

If you encounter a scam, report it to the Consumer Protection Division by calling 1-877-5-NO-SCAM or filing a complaint online.
